OK Folks, not only is H.264 the BEST technology, hands-down, on the market today, but we're also claiming to offer by far the lowest priced H.264 DVR packages you'll find anywhere! No kidding. Now we should point out -- there other PC DVR versions which are similar in pricing, but they're all using JPEG, MJPEG or MPEG4 video compression technology which is by no means state-of-the-art or cutting-edge! In fact, not only is there simply no comparison to H.264 technology, you should further be aware that if their prices are similar, their FPS (Frames Per Second) will be in the neighborhood of only 30 FPS. How can we so sure? Well, let's just say we've shopped around and know our competition! And as for ours? Our DiGiCam delivers a whopping 120 FPS! Folks, couple this type of Frame Rate with H.264 and you'll receive some of the smoothest, clearest, digital imaging this industry is capable of delivering to date! Further, H.264 digital audio/video compression is approx 25% greater than MPEG4. Please note: MPEG4 is best the industry offered, until now! In a nut shell, what's this mean? Recording time is approx 25% greater than the other compression formats. Data transfer over phone line, network, WI-FI, etc. is also increased by approx. 25%. Yet we believe the perk is the quality. However, let's discuss features. Recording is sent directly onto your computer's hard drive and depending on your settings, is capable of recording thousands of hours with little or no intervention. Includes Pre-set schedules (on/off times) to record. A Motion Detector mode which triggers recording for the length of time there's activity on the screen. Email notification - the minute there's any activity, in any or all cameras - it emails a picture of what triggered the event. Remote Access - Monitor your site from anywhere in the world by utilizing any computer, laptop or PC which has a regular modem or any access type to the internet (ISDN, DSL, Cable, etc), or monitor through any network type, all accomplished by using any regular web browser to remotely access and control all your cameras with our DiGiCam H.264. If you want simplicity, then this is the ticket! Merely plug your cameras into the back of the unit, grab a TV or CCTV Monitor to plug the unit into, locate a wall outlet for power and if you desire, a Network Ethernet connection for remote off site monitoring of your setup (optional) and you're set! However with simplicity, technical features are sacrificed. In other words, when you compare our DVR PC version (seen left) or any other PC DVR on the market today, PC DVRs should/will offer more tools for surveillance and remote monitoring than Stand-Alone units. However if all you're wanting is a Digital Video Recorder to take the place of a VCR and its limited capabilities, then a Stand Alone DVR will do just that! For starters, it operates just like a VCR. Simply press the Play, Record, Rewind, Fast Forward, Pause, etc. buttons to view a single or multiple camera(s) that are being monitored or were previously recorded. Offers a Time and Date stamp on the camera images. Has Multiplexing capabilities which allows the user to monitor, record and view previous recordings simultaneously and in any order desired (all at once or all at one time!) Programmable recording settings which include a Motion Detection mode, i.e. when the screen, image changes it will trigger recording for the length of time there's activity in any or all cameras OR select pre-set Daily recording schedules for as many cameras as you desire. Offers Pan, Tilt and Zoom controls for compatible PTZ cameras (including our line of PTZ cameras) by assigning various Key commands for control OR using a PTZ Joystick Keyboard controller that may be plugged directly into the back of the unit via its RS-232 connection. Further, it provides off site remote access via its downloadable and included software (the Remote Access feature is an OPTION, below). Simply utilize a Ethernet/network connection (RS232 cable not included) and you'll be able to remotely monitor your cameras from any PC w/internet connection anywhere in the world. Also we include a portable CF memory card slot for storing and transporting recorded data. Has 5 individual Alarm Relay inputs on the back of the unit for those who would like to tie their alarm/security system into it. This allows the unit to trigger recording once an alarm zone is triggered. A key-lock is provided to secure your Hard Drive from would-be tampering. And speaking of Hard Drives, maybe now is a good time to compare this issue and other matters to our competition. First you'll be pleasantly surprised to know that we have already included an 80 Gigabyte HD for recording and data storage. However, if 80 GB is not enough, then purchase our 250 GB HD. This should be more than ample for almost any situation!
